Cocokinondo is situated on the beautiful Galu Beach, an extension of Diani’s renowned powder-white sands, but much less crowded, often offering stretches of beach without a single person in sight. Galu Beach is larger, cleaner, and quieter than Diani Beach, making it a serene retreat. Diani Beach itself has been acclaimed as the best beach in Africa by the World Travel Market and ranks among the 25 best beaches in the world according to Trip Advisor.

Galu Beach in Diani enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round, with two main seasons: the dry season (December to March and June to September), characterised by sunny, clear skies and temperatures between 25°C to 32°C, and the rainy season (April to May and October to November), featuring brief tropical showers and temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C. The area is also refreshed by cooling sea breezes, making it a comfortable destination for beachgoers throughout the year. These conditions favour a variety of water sports and activities which are available nearby.
